Research in the Ghosh lab focuses on the study of the role of lung tissue stem/progenitor cells in COPD and lung cancer. We are interested in understanding the functional changes in normal repair mechanisms of the lung before development of chronic lung diseases or during carcinogenesis. We use primary cells obtained from patient samples, mouse models and tissue culture techniques and omics approaches to address these questions.
