Job description

As a Truck Driver at Steel Technologies, you’ll operate a heavy-capacity commercial truck to transport freight between Steel Technologies’ locations, from suppliers and to customers. Our customers depend on timely and quality deliveries and exceptional customer service. Sunday-Thursday 6:30 p.m.-4:30 a.m. How you’ll contribute to our company: - Operates a truck with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver steel products - Performs required daily vehicle inspections and monthly checklist to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order - Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles - Maneuvers trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned - Secures cargo for transport using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers - Inspects securement devices (chains, straps, tie-downs) for defects - Inspects material placed on truck for defects before and after trips - Maintains inspection paperwork and documentation relating to accidents or material defects - Follow...
