The Networks and Visits Team Leader role sits within the Export Promotion Unit in the Directorate for International Trade and Investment. The team plays a central part in delivering the Scottish Government’s ambition to grow Scotland’s international economic growth by strengthening export performance, attracting inward investment, and supporting programmes across A Trading Nation, Shaping Scotland’s Economy, and the New Markets initiative. In this role, you will lead the delivery of international ministerial trade and investment visits, ensuring activity is well‑aligned and targeted across government and partner agencies. You will oversee the GlobalScot and Trade Envoy networks, enhance their reach and diversity, and support upcoming network renewal work. A key element of the post includes strengthening Scotland’s engagement with India - building on recent research and developing a cross‑directorate India Engagement Plan, including business events at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
