Description The Advanced Practice Provider (APRN / PA) is responsible for providing direct patient care and office procedures under direct, and at times, general supervision of the physician. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Greet patients with courtesy and respect. Answer questions and direct requests appropriately and efficiently. · Provide direct patient care in the office, under the direction and in accordance with supervising physician. · Document care provided in the office setting within 24 hours. · Provide physician examination(s). · Obtain patient medical, social and family history, drug allergies, current medications and vital signs. · Set up and provide/assist with office surgical procedures; remove sutures, staples, change dressings. · Establish presumptive diagnoses and be responsible under the physician’ supervision for the management of the patient’s problems following diagnosis. · Initiate appropriate laboratory, radiologic and special examinations for tests required for the evaluation of illness and prepared written summary of care. · Communicate with patients by phone or letter regarding their problems, after consultation with the supervising physician. ·...
