Medical Assistant II - Neurology Clinic - ( 26001934 ) Description The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Neurology is looking to hire a Medical Assistant II under direct supervision of LIP (licensed independent practitioner), RN (registered nurse), NM/ANM (nurse manager/assistant nurse manager) or other licensed designee, that will function as a member of the ambulatory patient care team. This individual will perform technical, patient care and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting by coordinating all elements of the patient visit. Position Responsibilities: · Assists in clinic with physical examination of patient and related treatments according to patient condition and age, including but not limited to: patient history and screenings, vital signs, medication history, allergies and immunizations. · Provides information to patients using pre-printed and pre-approved documents. · Collects specimens for routine and specialized testing such as urinalysis and venipuncture using proper collection techniques and special processes as defined by specific specimen collection requirements. · Performs routine tests and procedures, including POC tests, under the direct...
