About the role: Manages litigated claims and the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), overseeing litigation and fraud investigation strategy, assigning cases to outside counsel, evaluating performance, controlling costs, and leading pre-suit consultation across all lines of business. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. How does this role make an impact? Leads strategy for litigated claims, including coverage determination, investigation, evaluation of liability and damages, reserving, negotiation, resolution strategy and cost management. Provides guidance and counsel to claims personnel with respect to identifying potential fraud and referring claims to SIU, including training on fraud-related issues for other company departments.
