Transportation Construction Inspector (Full-Time)

Job description

Overview EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION: - Construction work experience and basic understanding of construction means and methods for transportation projects with a focus on VDOT or other DOT experience. Experience inspecting projects to include roadway widening, intersection improvements, signalization, bridges, roadway maintenance, streetscape, utilities, and work activities of the same or similar type. Must also maintain a valid driver's license with a good driving record and pass a fingerprint-based criminal background check, DMV driving record check, reference verification, and work history check. Responsibilities: MAIN DUTIES: - Provides on-site compliance inspection, quality assurance, and progress monitoring for conformance to plans, contracts, specifications, and codes applicable to the construction operations assigned. Communicates with and advise contractors of discrepancies and the necessary actions to conform to the plans and specifications. - Maintains project records including daily diaries documenting work performed by construction contractors.
