Job description

Responsible ensuring a safe working environment and prevent occupational accidents and injuries. The Safety Specialist supports the company’s safety program within mechanical construction projects by promoting a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with OSHA, state, and company safety standards, and working with project teams to prevent incidents. This role provides training, conducts inspections, and assists management in implementing corrective actions to maintain a strong safety culture across all job sites. Keeping up to date with new laws and regulations regarding workplace safety and making recommendations for implementation. Responsibilities and Duties: - Performs safety audits. - Assists or conducts all safety related training. - Performs and/or assists with safety incident investigations as well as OSHA investigations. - Lead the written Hazard Communication (HazCom) program: maintain SDSs, ensure secondary container labeling, and deliver initial/annual training. - Verify machine guarding, point-of-operation protection, and safe use of hand/power tools; correct deficiencies and lock/tag unsafe equipment. - Manage powered industrial truck (forklift) training, evaluati...
