Description Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for a renewable term, 9 month faculty member for the general education course “Gateway to the Social Sciences”. This course is part of a suite of courses that meet the General Education Core V requirement: First Year Experience. A first-year experience course is required for all incoming first-year and transfer students at the University of Oklahoma. Specifically, Gateway to the Social Sciences (CAS 1563) is focused on introducing how social science disciplines contribute to our understanding of the social world in which we live, as well providing foundational knowledge so that students are able to identify similarities and differences between various social science disciplines. The course will give students the opportunity to become versed in current issues studied from various social science perspectives, as well as become familiar with various methodological approaches used across the social science disciplines.
