DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: SUPERVISION: Reports directly to Nurse Manager and/or Charge Nurse - The Emergency Room Technician performs various patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Assists the professional nursing staff by performing any delegated duties, specialized procedures, and assists with care of seriously ill patients. The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those stated in this description. - Under the direction of the Licensed Nurse provides physical patient care in a safe manner. - Communicates abnormal variances of data (vital signs, pain, etc) to appropriate staff. - Consistently utilizes basic decision making skills to complete routine tasks. - Competently performs unit specific procedures.
