Reporting to the Director of Environmental Health & Safety, the Environmental Health & Safety Manager will ensure compliance with federal, state, local government and industry standards. Emphasis is on environmental regulations, hazardous materials, safety, interim life safety, waste water, indoor environmental quality, asbestos compliance, fire/life safety, OSHA/EPA and other relevant regulatory programs. This position will be expected to work toward developing, implementing and assessing site compliance with internal standards, regulatory agencies, and other national guidelines and standards. Utilizes working knowledge of EHS regulatory compliance through observation and functional analytical skills to identify, review and assess compliance. Performs risk assessments of research laboratory and summarizes key aspects of regulatory statutes in format for reports to department management.
