Job description
Position available for a Assistant Scientist in a neuroscience laboratory (Gandy/Ehrlich) focused on study of neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s, X-linked dystonia parkinsonism, and Huntington’s disease. Applicants should have experience in molecular, cell and/or animal model systems. Experience with informatics is a plus. These projects involve a broad array of well-established techniques, including mouse breeding and genotyping (with assistance from a research associate and outsourcing of genotyping), molecular biology (e.g. CrispR), histology, cell culture including iPSCs, primary cells and cell lines, microdissection of tissues, RNA and protein preparation, and/or other specialized approaches to study neurodegeneration, including a multi-omic approach. - 3-years experience following a PhD in neuroscience, cell biology, pharmacology, immunology, biochemistry, molecular biology, pathology, or related discipline. - Evidence for independent skills in molecular biology, and standard immunoprotein methods (e.g., immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation, immunohistochemistry, ELISA) required.
