The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Visual Arts Instructor to join our team. The YMCA focuses on empowering people in all forms, by improving health and well-being and inspiring action in and across our neighborhoods. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Visual Arts Instructor provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for program participants in visual and/or digital arts classes - providing a quality experience to students and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring. Key Responsibilities: - Teach and demonstrate sound technical and artistic principles to program participants. - Create class lesson plans within the allotted budgeted hours with a natural progression that relates to the abilities and ages of the classes being taught, as well as reflect YMCA dance curricula and YMCA core values. - Attend and contribute to art exhibitions and other YMCA events as assigned. - Effectively communicate program information and student progress to the youth and/or...
