Job description

Job Purpose or Objective(s): A the Environmental Specialist 2, you will monitor the environment, identifying environmental issues, and recommending solutions to enhance the lives of those who live within the Choctaw Nation. You will report to the Environmental Compliance Officer/Director. Primary Tasks: 1. Communicate with federal, state, and local agencies via telephone, email or in person to resolve questions, concerns, and requirements. 2. Act as lead to develop new programs within EPS. 3. Responsible for certifying all environmental requirements have been followed by the Choctaw Nation in accordance with appropriate State, Federal and Tribal guidelines/regulations. 4. Assist tribal departments and communities with environmental compliance standards by training and performing inspections. Review and assist junior Environmental Specialists’ work. 5. Participate in environmental regulatory inspections. Communicate with all internal sites/departments regarding areas of noncompliance to assure compliance is met. 6.
