Unit Coordinator - ED Main Campus (Nights, 7p-7a)

Job description

Overview: 12 hrs/week, nights, 7p-7a, every third weekend, holiday rotation. Base pay $20.50/hr plus applicable shift differentials. Not eligible for benefits. Job Description Summary: Greets and registers critical and trauma patients. Answers telephone calls, schedules appointments, and facilitates unit communication. Coordinates admissions paperwork and communications, contacts on-call providers, and pulls and files medical charts when indicated. Job Description: Essential Functions: - Provides excellent customer service to patients and families by applying best practices and standard operating procedures. - Register’s patients in critical care and trauma situations. Obtains accurate patient information on registrations. - Establishes and maintains open communication with all departments and interacts with and clinical staff in those areas. Pages Providers as needed in the ED and follow ups to assure callers are connected. - Assists in the shadowing and precepting of new employees. - Order supplies and assures sufficient stock for unit needs. - Answers internal and external phone calls.
