Job description

Overview Directs and supervises the nursing staff and Resident Assistants ensuring quality care in accordance with all applicable standards, guidelines and regulations. Performs various resident care treatments/services and assists in the coordination, direction and management of the department to provide for the needs, safety and comfort of the residents. Licensing required. Responsibilities: - Conduct supervisory activities such as hiring staff, providing employee orientation, participate in interviewing and hiring associates along with implementing progressive counseling, training, creating work schedules, coaching or disciplinary action, and approving employee time sheets for department. - Monitor resident calls and ensure staff answer promptly and determine how to assist them. - Help residents with bathing, dressing, maintaining personal hygiene, moving in bed, or standing and walking. - Administer prescribed medications as ordered by physician(s) or in response to emergency situations, noting times and amounts on residents' charts. - Observe residents, charting and reporting changes in residents' conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any...
