The Service & Team: The Archives and Cornish Studies Service is the local authority archive for Cornwall. In 2019 the service moved to the Kresen Kernow building in Redruth, home to over 1.5 million archives and books. We welcome thousands of residents and visitors each year to discover, learn and take part, and many more connect with our collections, services and events online. In addition to acquiring records in accordance with our statutory role, we collect archive material relating to a diverse range of individuals, communities, organisations and events, to ensure that information on the history and life of Cornwall is recorded, preserved and made accessible. Through our library collection we provide a central repository for material concerning Cornwall and the Cornish including printed books, pamphlets, journals, newspapers, photographs and audio-visual material. Our aim is to make the collections available to all and through care and preservation, to ensure their continuing availability for years to come.
