Job description

The CT Tech 2 arranges patients for Computed Tomography examinations. Produces CT images to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. Prevents patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation. Ensures patient safety by using pre-established imaging protocols, and screens patients for safe administration of contrast media. Utilizes departmental policy to perform safe operation of equipment and all functions of the job. Provides complete pre and post education to patients and family. Reports to Supervisor or Manager. Able to evaluate competency level of others. - Clinical skills - Exhibits working knowledge of all CT equipment and proceedures. - Refers to physician's orders/chart for any special instructions that may be indicated. - Routinely questions the patient before procedure to obtain patient history. - Explains proceedure completely to facilitate cooperation and alleviate anxiety. - Performs all procedures in an efficient and timely manner without comprimising quality or the mission statement. - Coordinates CT schedule with other areas to prevent patient waiting. - Patient/General Safety - Corrects and reports accidents, incidents and safety hazards. - Uses PPE (personal pr...
