Job Summary: Promptly responds in an emergency medical vehicle to the scene of reported emergencies, non-emergencies and interfacility transports. Provides efficient and immediate basic or advanced life support care to the patient at the scene and enroute to and in the hospital. Treats patients in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, standards and protocols. Essential Job Duties: 1. EMT-As will provide an assessment of patients, determine necessary care and deliver emergency services by utilizing appropriate medical techniques and equipment. 2. Assessing the nature and extent of injury or illness to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed 3. Satisfactorily perform all skills and procedures as designed by the Indiana EMS Commission curriculum 4. Effectively communicating with professional medical personnel and treatment facilities to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and/ or to arrange reception of patients to the appropriate center 5.
