Medical Laboratory Scientist - Associate (Blood Bank, 10am-8pm)

Job description

Under direct supervision, responsible for providing technical skills in organizing and performing various medical laboratory procedures and clinical laboratory techniques. - Performs routine laboratory procedures recognizing deviation from expected results. - Analyzes and corrects problems with the assistance of more senior personnel. - Performs Quality Control and calibrations on instruments. - Performs weekly preventative maintenance on laboratory instruments and equipment. - Accessions samples for in-house testing and referral laboratory testing. - Secures media and supplies for clinical testing or research studies and manages supply requests. - Assists in the review and revision of laboratory policies and procedures and in the preparation for laboratory inspections by various regulatory/accrediting agencies. - Performs all other duties as assigned. - Excellent customer service for both internal and external customers. - Knowledge of general laboratory, safety and quality control, principles, techniques, and terminology, and use of complex medical equipment. - Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). - Excellent written and oral communic...
