Job description

Basic Purpose Provides comprehensive engineering design services for substation facilities and ensures the facilities are constructed on schedule and within committed resource allocations. Provides leadership, training, and direction to fellow staff members. Demonstrates more complex technical work and directs others in technical work in performing all phases of projects with minimal guidance. Assists principal engineers and managers on higher-level projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develops economical, technically feasible, reliable substation physical and control designs with minimal supervision and guidance. Technical management of multiple substation projects and prioritization of work, working collaboratively with outside consulting firms and internal stakeholders. Ensures quality control on assigned projects by providing construction support as needed, including coordination with construction forces and job site inspections. Provides coordination and communication with other departments in completing procurement tasks on projects with minimal supervision or guidance.
