Job description
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Licensure/Certification: Valid, unrestricted Indiana drivers license. Eligible for Indiana handgun permit. Ability to meet all requirements for Hospital Police Officer certification as outlined in I.C. 16-18-4-4. Successful completion of firearms proficiency testing with semi-annual requalification. Experience: Must be 21 years as of the date of graduation from the academy. Successful completion of Indiana Law Enforcement Pre-Basic Training (40 hours) unless applicant has previous qualifying academy completion. Mental/Physical Effort: The individual in this position must be physically, emotionally, and mentally capable of performing the duties of a sworn police officer without impairment. This role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Officers must be prepared to operate in high-stress, emergency situations and potentially life-threatening environments. Duties may involve exposure to dangerous individuals, firearms, bodily fluids, loud noise, and severe weather conditions.
