Phlebotomist (Full time, Outreach)

Job description

Primary Function Responsible for performing all forms of phlebotomy procedures including registration on any age level, process specimens to ensure stability, perform order entry procedures to ensure accuracy of patient/testing information, and provide all laboratory results to providers. Responsibilities: - Obtain blood samples by performing venipunctures, finger sticks and heel sticks on any age level. Use aseptic techniques and follow established procedures. - Enter all patient information into the correct hospital system, verifying patient demographics, updating and verifying all patient insurance, and administering ABN’s as needed. - Organize and distribute workload in phlebotomy, including routine, time specific or stat orders, to ensure timely results to provider - Order tests in computer and if needed contact the physician on questions relating to test requests. - File/Scan scripts and insurance information, and prepare reports for delivery to Doctor’s office if needed. - Prepare samples for courier pickup and/or deliver samples, to the appropriate department to ensure specimen integrity. - Maintain a proper inventory of supplies needed in order to provide continuous servic...
