Job description

The Meat Operations branch is part of the Operational Delivery Division of Food Standards Scotland and is operationally responsible for the delivery of Official Controls in FSS approved slaughterhouses, cutting plants and game handling establishments in Scotland. The post holder will play a key part in the development of management teams and provide strategic direction in the non-technical development of staff. The HOFO will be responsible for outcomes and performance management as monitored through a KPI framework of geographically dispersed operational teams, establishing objectives which meet the needs of the FSS 2026-2031 Strategy, ensuring the service is delivered to a consistent standard throughout Scotland and that the team continuously develops and grows.
