Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary: Position has direct responsibility for departmental coding; provides direct supervision to coders; approves time, coordinates vacation/leave requests; provides coaching and audits performance; assists divisions in the process of charge capture, compliance, and adherence to billing practices and policies under the direction of the Manager, Coding and Compliance, and the Director of Revenue Cycle and Financial Analysis. Job Description: Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Oversees the day-to-day activities of the coding staff, including adherence to policies and procedures and setting work schedule. Monitors coder performance and conducts performance reviews for coders in the area of responsibility. Identifies missing charges and processes for billing. Reviews documentation in the medical record to identify all pertinent facts necessary to select the comprehensive diagnoses and procedures that fully describe the patient’s conditions and treatment.
