Job description

Research Support Assistant in Yonggang Ma’s laboratory. Our laboratory investigates the cellular and molecular mechanisms whereby innate and adaptive immunity regulate cardiac repair post-myocardial infarction and to accelerate the development of immunomodulatory agents for the treatment of patients with ischemic heart failure. We use mouse myocardial infarction model and human samples to investigate how distinct innate (e.g. neutrophils and macrophages) and adaptive (T and B lymphocytes) immune cells regulate cardiac wound healing response. - Conduct laboratory research in physiology and other related biological science disciplines. Assist with supply purchasing, financial management, and general lab maintenance. - Assist with animal colony maintenance and surgery preparation. - Maintains logs and records of experiments and observations, findings, and results for use in presentations, publications, and grant applications. - Assist in coordinating with the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and Biosafety for animal research protocols, lab inspection, safety monitoring, and other compliance issues. - Perform literature search and organize information for presentatio...
