This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-profile and fast-paced policy team at the heart of the Scottish Government’s work to improve outcomes for children and families through kinship care. The Kinship Care Team sits within the Caregivers Unit and leads on policy, legislation and delivery relating to kinship care in Scotland. Kinship care is now the most common form of care placement in Scotland and is a central component of delivery of The Promise and a specific Programme for Government commitment through the Kinship Care Vision. The team is currently taking forward major, time-critical work, including: The role involves engagement with kinship carers, children and young people, and representative organisations, helping to ensure that lived experience informs policy development and implementation.
