WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR: The Accountant II position is responsible for providing financial information to management with primary focus on fixed asset accounting, capitalization, and compliance. This role includes analyzing accounting data, maintaining accurate fixed asset records, and preparing intermediate to advanced financial reports in accordance with applicable standards and organization policies. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Fixed Asset Accounting & Compliance: Construction in Progress (CIP) & Capital Projects - Support fixed asset accounting activities, including capitalization, disposals, transfers, and depreciation in compliance with GASB standards and organizational policy. - Maintain reconciliations of the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper classification. - Review and approve capital expenditures, ensuring appropriate application of capitalization criteria, useful lives, funding treatment, and asset classification. - Research, interpret, and support implementation of new and existing GASB pronouncements, ensuring compliance and appropriate application in financial reporting. - Own and monitor Construction in Progress (CIP),...
