Classification Title: Agricultural Assistant II Classification Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience. Job Description: - Maintain, coordinate, and participate in NFREC-Quincy center-wide pesticide recordkeeping, perform computer-oriented duties for farm office and center records. - Apply pesticides and fertilizers to research plots and center grounds. Calibrate sprayers, fertilizer spreaders, and handheld boom sprayers. - Serve as lead for lower-level farm crew when assigned. - Perform field and greenhouse work: planting, maintaining, and harvesting research crops. - Operate a variety of farm equipment, including state vehicles, for land preparation, planting, spraying, and harvesting of research plots and center grounds. - Implement research projects with each program as necessary, implement and coordinate sampling of farm research blocks for ph readings and aid in performing laboratory procedures using a variety of laboratory equipment. - Assist with various activities associated with field days as...
