City/State Newport News, VA Work Shift: First (Days) Overview: Sentara Cardiology Specialist Port Warwick in New Port News, VA is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant. Up to 5,000 Sign on Bonus offered to eligible candidates! Candidates must be flexible to travel within sister Cardiology offices. Overview: The Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The Medical Assistant provides an environment for safety; identifies, addresses, and incorporates principles of safety for the patient, visitors, and employees. Provides patient care tasks and procedures and administrative duties (as appropriate). Demonstrates the ability to objectively assess a specific situation from a few viewpoints considers an array of alternatives, assists with the development of realistic action plans and evaluates outcomes.
