Job description

The Advanced Photon Source (APS) is seeking a technician to join the Mechanical Operations and Maintenance (MOM) group within the APS Engineering Support (AES) Division. This position will be assigned to the Mechanical/Water section, supporting the accelerator complex, user beamlines, and other related projects. The technician will be trained to assist with the operation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of process water pumping systems; the installation, removal, troubleshooting, and replacement of accelerator components; and the installation, removal, and troubleshooting of conventional accelerator magnets. This position requires overtime, weekend work during machine maintenance periods, and on-call rotation availability.
