POSITION SPECIFICS: Title: Surgical Technician – Student: FTE: Per diem: Schedule: Monday through Friday from 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM Holiday Rotation : None: Weekend Rotation: None: On Call Requirements: None: POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of a Surgical Technician, establishes and maintains a sterile field for surgical procedures meeting surgical standards. Prepares surgical suites and operating room staff during surgical procedures. Responsible for decontaminating, preparing, sterilizing, storing, and distributing sterile instruments/reprocessed supplies and assisting with patient and room prep in surgical area. POSITION TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assembles and prepares equipment, instruments, and supplies for all specialties using surgeon preference cards as a reference. Set up and maintain sterile field while anticipating and responding to the surgeon intra-operative needs. Functions as second assistant during surgical procedures.
