Job description

Summary: In the Freight Operations Coordinator role, you will be responsible for managing multiple shipments and ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all necessary regulatory requirements. You will be expected to source, negotiate, and secure carriers to move freight in a timely and cost-effective manner. Duties/Responsibilities: Cultivate strong core carrier relationships while negotiating and securing carriers to move freight. Coordinate and manage transportation services for Southland customers, including scheduling and dispatching of carriers. Ensure proper and sufficient communication is provided as it relates to operational issues, potential issues, or any foreseen issues to account management. Negotiate rates with carriers to ensure cost effective transportation solutions for Southland customers. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to transportation, including DOT regulations, and hazardous materials regulations.
