Job description

Help train the next generation of professional drivers as a part-time Commercial Drivers License Instructor with North Idaho College’s Workforce Training Center. This hands-on role delivers high-quality skills instruction, guiding students through behind-the-wheel driving, range work, backing maneuvers, and real-world proficiency development to prepare them for Idaho’s state CDL skills test. Working alongside a team of instructors, this position provides engaging, practical training on public roads and in controlled environments, clearly communicates expectations, and evaluates student progress through observation and feedback. Responsibilities include documenting student performance and training hours, verifying completion of FMCSA Entry Level Driver Training requirements, and collaborating with the program coordinator to support student success. The role also contributes to curriculum updates, maintains vehicle safety and readiness, and ensures all instruction aligns with state, federal, and college standards.
