Head Women’s Softball Coach Reports to: Head Coach: Job Status : Yes: JOB SUMMARY : Responsible for recruiting, developing and managing team of student-athletes to represent HCU in the sport of women’s softball. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Serves as a representative of the University displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the HCU community and with the public - Scouts and recruits talented athletes for team which involves evaluating current and potential talent at high schools and junior colleges. - Coaches athletes during games and practices - Schedules opponents - Operates within the rules as required by the conference and the NCAA - Evaluates competitor performance - Manages use of softball facilities - Purchases, maintains, and inventories equipment, uniforms and supplies for team - Monitors student-athletes’ academic performance and assists them in balancing academics and athletics - Mentors students on an individual basis and in groups in developing life-skills, character building activities, and modeling Christian values for students - Generates enthusiasm and pride among players, students, alumni and f...
