Widener University is seeking an Adjunct Professor in the Department of History in the Division of Humanities, College of Arts and Sciences. The Adjunct Professor should be committed to excellence in teaching and student engagement. The successful candidate will bring demonstrated teaching experience and a collaborative spirit, contributing to a department and university community that values diversity. This role will entail introductory-level global history surveys covering the period from 1500 to the present and/or a 300-level seminar in the candidate’s area of expertise. Part-time adjunct faculty may instruct 1 to 3 courses each semester on an “as needed” basis. Courses available for adjunct staffing are offered during the day. Adjunct faculty are expected to teach a specified course(s); prepare course materials, be available to meet with students outside of regularly scheduled class time, and provide support and guidance to students.
