Job description
PRN ROTATE: The Ultrasound Technologist performs basic diagnostic ultrasound procedures, as requested by a licensed physician. Exercises professional judgment in providing health care services, to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly. May be multi-credentialed in the area of sonography. General Functions: - Produces high quality diagnostic sonographs, by selecting and operating appropriate sonographic equipment - Evaluates images for technical quality, assuring proper identification and procedure is recorded, assists practitioner with sonography, and uses high frequency sound waves for the purpose of diagnostic images - Practices aseptic techniques as necessary, understands methods of venipuncture and other sterile techniques in agreement with state statues and/or where institutional policy permits, - Prepares, identifies and/or administers contrast media as prescribed by a license’s practitioner. - Assists with amnio procedure biopsies if required.
