Pratt Paper Mill: Where Raw Talent Becomes Sustainable Impact. General Summary: The Mill Chemist works alongside the production team in order to maximize safety, quality and production. The Mill Chemist will be directly responsible for the management of all chemical systems. Duties and Responsibilities: - Planning, designing, and ordering the proper chemical and starch delivery systems. - Ensuring the proper installation of the above chemical and starch delivery systems. - Commissioning the above systems. - Participating in all chemical supplier negotiations, including the final determination of programs and suppliers. - Maintaining safety standards in the chemical areas. - Maintaining chemical inventories. - Maintaining chemical delivery systems. - Determining, reporting and optimizing chemical costs. - Evaluating trials. - Training operators on chemical and general technical concepts. - Mentoring and managing two (2) assistant mill chemists. - Additional duties as assigned by mill management. Education and/or Experience: The educational requirements are four (4) year Bachelor of Science in Pulp and Paper Science, Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Th...
