Temporary Lab Assistant: Animal Programs

The Science, Engineering, and Math Department is seeking part-time lab assistants for the Zoo Keeping Technology and Veterinary Assistant labs. Positions will assist in the care and husbandry of the animal collection on site. This is a temporary part-time hourly position, not to exceed 28 hours per week. Ability to work evenings and weekends to support animal and department needs. Minimum Qualifications: - Completed High School Diploma or completed GED. - Two semesters of Zookeeping Technology, in addition to biology or environmental science with passing grade(s) . - Basic record keeping skills. Preferred Qualifications: - Additional degree from a regionally accredited institution. - Additional years of experience in a zoological lab or conservation initiatives. Essential Functions: Lab Operations & Support: - Cleaning, scrubbing/disinfecting enclosures and dishes. - Diet preparation and feeding. - Additional duties pertaining to the role as assigned.
