Position: Senior Diesel & Heavy Equipment Mechanics Type: Full-time: Location: Virginia Beach, VA: Travel: 10%: **Contingent Upon Award** Position Summary: The Senior Diesel & Heavy Equipment Mechanic serves as a master mechanic responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and overseeing complex maintenance actions across NSW diesel, heavy equipment, and tactical vehicle fleets. This role performs the most technically demanding repairs and provides expert guidance and oversight to less experienced mechanics within the shop. The Senior Diesel & Heavy Equipment Mechanic ensures maintenance actions meet OEM, NAVFAC, and NSW standards while supporting high equipment availability and operational readiness. Duties and Responsibilities: - Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on diesel and heavy equipment platforms - Repair and troubleshoot engines, drivetrains, suspension, braking, and hydraulic systems - Provide expert technical input on complex maintenance issues - Oversee and mentor junior and midlevel mechanics - Ensure maintenance quality and compliance with OEM and NAVFAC standards - Support inspections, audits, and readiness assessments - Operate Government vehicles during testing an...
