Description Under the direction of the Executive Director of Admissions and working closely with the Assistant Director of Recruitment, the Admissions Counselor is responsible for recruiting and counseling prospective students, families and college counselors through the application, review, and financial aid process and acts as a liaison between the Admissions office and the School of Music. SKILLS/ABILITIES: - Cultivate a holistic comprehension of the various schools’ mission statements, programs, curricula and artistic vision and how these mesh with CalArts as an Institute. - Actively research, seek out and/or strengthen relationships with music programs and schools across the country and in assigned recruitment territories, seek new and currently relevant methods of reaching out to prospective students beyond traditional school visits and fairs. - Represent and discuss all aspects of the Institute at college fairs, high school events, visual and performing arts classes and regional recruitment receptions. - Contact teachers and counselors at secondary schools and community colleges to arrange for visits. - Conduct weekly on-campus information sessions and tours of CalArts. - Ad...
