Job description

The Operating Room Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for surgery patients following established standards and practices. This individual is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and efficient care in a surgical environment. Type: PRN: Location: Fishers, IN ASC Schedule: As Needed Responsibilities: - Perform pre- and post-op assessment for patients; perform and assess temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration for assigned patients; and administer prescribed medications and delivery of care in accordance with nursing standards and under direction of physician and anesthesiologist. - Carry out and monitor nursing process for assigned patients, which include assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating a plan of nursing care for the patient. - Anticipate patient needs for specific case utilizing physician preference card, knowledge and experience. - Dispense medications as ordered and observe, record, and report patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians, maintaining accurate and timely updates in the patient’s chart. - Circulate and/or scrub as needed, maintain a sterile field at all times, assist with pain managemen...
