Job description

The following are specific guidelines for the functioning and responsibilities of Emergency Department Care Assistants assigned to the Department of Emergency Medicine, 1.Supplies and Equipment Management a. Monitors and maintains equipment in the Emergency Department; works with supervisor, ED staff and outside departments (e.g., Biomedical Engineering and Engineering) to ensure equipment remains in good working order. b. Inspects broken equipment for repaired/replacement. c. Order additional accessories for equipment and replaces accessories as needed. d. Ensures all procedure rooms have basic equipment i.e. (Mayo Stand, monitor cables) e. Monitors supplies to ensure appropriate inventory levels (at the direction of the supervisor), including: i. Identification of supply needs; communication of supply needs to supervisor. ii. Ensuring proper stocking, storage and distribution of supplies to end users (across all Emergency Department supply areas) iii. Supply room maintenance and clean up (all Emergency Department supply areas) iv.
