The Position: Performing general welding assignments for any/all areas of the plant to support the production goals. Duties include but are not limited to those described below. Responsibilities: WHAT YOU’LL DO: - Ability to weld on a flat, curved, or vertical surface. - Ability to set a welding machine, including the gas, volts, amps, and wire speed. - Ability to weld in a variety of positions, particularly overhead. - Be able to make minor adjustments to the welding equipment as needed. - Properly load raw materials, parts, etc., into the welding machine. - Removes work pieces and scrap from machines. - Files, grinds, or scrapes sharp edges, burrs, scales, or rust from work pieces. - Hammers out bent or warped spots in metal. - Sorts, marks, tags finished work. - Transports material or signal crane operator to move materials. - Compares work piece with straight edge or template to verify conformance to specifications. - Cleans work area, machines...
