Berkeley College is currently seeking a Personal Counselor to work on-site at ourthe Newark, NJ and Woodbridge, NJ Campuses. Reporting to the Director of Counseling and Wellness, the Personal Counselor is responsible for providing counseling services to students that address their personal, interpersonal, academic, and career concerns through short-term individual therapy, group counseling, psycho-educational workshops, referrals, and crisis intervention/ management. This position also requires collaboration with the Student Development & Campus Life department and the Office of Accessibility Services. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: - Provide culturally competent short-term individual and group counseling. - Provide crisis intervention, assessment, and counseling services to students. - Assist in creating ADA accommodation plans for students with disabilities. - Assist students in obtaining referrals for long-term therapy and local community resources. - Maintain a referral network to area resources. - Collaborate and consult with college faculty and staff to ensure student care and well-being. - Provide classroom support and training to faculty and students. - Participate in...
