Position Summary The Director, IT Security for NYU’s School of Arts and Science provides leadership for security initiatives and operations, ensuring the College’s diverse academic and research goals align with the NYU Global Information Security Program. Serving as a liaison to the Global Office of Information Security, the Director facilitates compliance with university policies, contractual, and regulatory cybersecurity requirements of global research. Beyond technical oversight, this role emphasizes providing subject matter expertise, mentorship, guiding IT stakeholders in security best practices to build a culture of cybersecurity. Success depends on strong communication and relationship building, as the Director must translate technical risks for non-technical stakeholders and Principal Investigators. As the primary strategic liaison between the School and NYU IT, the Director ensures a seamless partnership that balances risk management in support of the University’s academic, administrative, and research missions.
