FLEX Manager, Design/Property Improvement Plan Writer (East Coast)

Job description

This is a temporary position. The Design Manager/PIP Writer leads design scope development for conversion and renovation projects, with a primary focus on Marriott’s midscale brands. The role conducts site visits and authors Property Improvement Plans (PIPs), providing design and technical oversight to ensure alignment with brand standards and strategy. This position partners with owners, consultants, and internal teams to manage design reviews, variance approvals, and issue resolution, and may also support design quality assurance and design management services across franchised, managed, or corporate projects, including conversions, new construction, adaptive re‑use, and renovations. This role requires extensive travel (up to 80%) and exercises independent judgment while influencing external stakeholders and contributing to the evolution of brand standards and design processes.
