We are pleased to offer an exciting internal opportunity for a Registered Nurse to take on a key role in pre-operative patient screening at our Westmead site. Given the patient cohort is mainly elderly, with multiple co-morbidities and complex medications, this role is ideal for a nurse who is highly organised, clinically confident, and passionate about delivering safe, high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring patients are appropriately prepared for their procedures, supporting both clinical outcomes and the overall patient experience. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments, including medical history review and risk identification; - Liaise with patients to ensure all required documentation and investigations are completed prior to surgery; - Collaborate closely with medical staff and the day surgery team to support efficient theatre scheduling; - Provide clear patient education and instructions in preparation for procedures; - Escalate any clinical concerns appropriately to ensure patient safety.
