Title: Substitute Teacher for the Deaf or Visually Impaired, HILIA Department: HILIA Campus Location: Normal, IL Job Summary: Serve as a Daily Rate Substitute Teacher for the deaf or visually impaired, working with students attending the Laboratory Schools through the Heart of Illinois Low Incidence (HILIAS) program. Salary Rate / Pay Rate: $112.50 per day Additional Information: Benefits include time away from work for eligible employees and the option to participate in the University’s 403(b) Plan . Required Qualifications: 1. Associate’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or show completion of 60 semester hours of coursework 2. Short-Term Substitute License through the Regional Office of Education, or valid Illinois Substitute teaching certificate 3. Demonstrates competent sign language skills OR competent braille skills Work Hours: School Hours: Functional Expectations: Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation: 1.
