DP World is hiring an Automation Technician (PLC) responsible for the systems commissioning and management of all automation software and hardware related to Drives, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), PC’s and control systems installed on Quay Cranes (QC’s).: This position will work across a DAY shift only. How Will You Contribute: - Develop understanding of all automation software in order to troubleshoot PLCs, Drives and other control systems installed on Quay Cranes - Support in the delivery and commissioning of new Quay Crane Automation systems - Continually monitor the performance of QC’s in order to find/propose ways of continuous improvement. - Optimize the performance of QC’s considering operational patterns, business demands and industry developments. - Develop full understanding of troubleshooting Quay Cranes - Assist in the procurement planning of spares considering maintenance schedules, consumption trends and lead times - Troubleshoot control systems from a hardware perspective - Improve the reliability and MMBF of Quay Cranes with a special emphasis on the root cause analysis of recurring issues - Manage version control, back up of software.
